HAJIME NO IPPO

A Story of Perseverance and Passion

Hajime no Ippo is a boxing anime and manga that follows the journey of Ippo Makunouchi, a shy and timid young man who transforms into a passionate and determined boxer. After being bullied at school, Ippo meets a boxing trainer who helps him discover his strength and confidence.

As Ippo trains and competes, he faces both physical and emotional challenges, but also finds friendship and support among his teammates. The series explores themes such as perseverance, discipline, and personal growth.

X-MEN

X-Men: Days of Future Past, directed by Bryan Singer, is one of the most ambitious and acclaimed installments of the X-Men saga.

The film merges the original trilogy cast with the younger actors introduced in X-Men: First Class (2011), offering a story that jumps between a dystopian future and the turbulent past of the mutants.

The story takes place in a dystopian future where mutants are on the brink of extinction due to the Sentinels, machines created to hunt and exterminate anyone with the mutant gene. In a desperate attempt to change the course of history, the X-Men send Wolverine’s (played by Hugh Jackman) consciousness into the past, specifically the 1970s. His mission is to convince the young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to join forces to stop Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) from committing an assassination that would lead to the creation of the Sentinels.

One of the film’s greatest strengths is its complex but well-constructed time-travel narrative, which not only deepens the story but also allows for a reconciliation of the different timelines within the franchise. The performances are solid, particularly the contrast between the broken idealism of young Xavier and Magneto’s extreme pragmatism.

The film also shines with its special effects and memorable scenes, such as the slow-motion Quicksilver sequence, which has become one of the most iconic in superhero cinema.

Beyond action and visual effects, the movie explores deep themes such as redemption, free will, second chances, and the consequences of our choices. This emotional depth adds weight to what could have otherwise been just another action film.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is not only a visual spectacle but also a mature and thoughtful story within the genre. It successfully unites generations of characters and corrects past missteps in the franchise, revitalizing the saga with intelligence and emotion. It’s an essential piece of the X-Men universe and one of the best superhero movies of the decade.

MY DEAREST NEMESIS

A charming K-Drama that perfectly blends romance, comedy, and drama.

The story follows Baek Soo-jung, a strong and independent woman, and Ban Joo-yeon, her former love and now her boss, as they navigate their shared past and present.

The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and their relationship is both emotionally intense and delightfully witty. The supporting characters add depth and humor to the story. With impeccable direction and a beautiful soundtrack, this drama is an emotional rollercoaster that will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love. A beautiful story about love, destiny, and second chances.

FROZEN II

The movie Frozen 2 is a worthy sequel to the original, although it doesn't surpass the magic of the first installment.

The story follows Elsa, who feels a mysterious call that leads her to embark on a journey to find answers about her past and her powers. Accompanied by Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff, Elsa ventures into a magical forest where she discovers secrets about her family and her kingdom.

The songs are beautiful and varied, although not as catchy as those in the first film. "Into the Unknown" is one of the standout songs, with a strong sense of liberation.

The animation is excellent, with special effects and Nordic-inspired colors that reflect Elsa's magic.

The main characters stay true to themselves, although some new characters don't have much impact on the plot. Olaf remains a fun and endearing character.

The story is lovely, although not as deep as in the first installment. The film explores themes such as identity, love, and friendship.

INSIDIOUS

A story that explores horror, suspense, and astral projection.

The story follows a family who moves into a new home, only to face a series of paranormal phenomena when their son falls into a coma and his body appears to be a channel for entities from beyond the grave.

The film stands out for its unsettling atmosphere, effective use of sound, and its ability to generate tension without relying heavily on special effects or gore. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne deliver compelling performances as desperate parents, while the plot introduces an original concept about astral travel and a dark dimension known as The Afterlife.

With solid direction and memorable moments of terror, Night of the Demon has become a modern classic of horror cinema.

MY DEAREST NEMESIS

In this scene, we can see the moment when Ban Joo-yeon takes Baek Soo-jung as his official partner. We witness how he brings her to the place that makes him feel most like himself, the place where he feels happiest, because he wants to share that joy with her.

As a personal opinion, I want to reference another scene where she resolves a problem that required an agreement Ban Joo-yeon needed. In that moment, someone tells him, "She has no passion, because you are her passion." To me, this scene represents that very passion and love she has for him—just by observing his happiness and the way she looks at him. It’s like saying, “As long as you’re happy, I’ll be happy too.” That is the look of love.

X-MEN

Charles Xavier meets his future self

In one of the most meaningful scenes in X-Men: Days of Future Past, the young Charles Xavier (played by James McAvoy) manages to communicate mentally with his future self (played by Patrick Stewart) through Wolverine’s mind, who serves as a bridge between the two timelines. This meeting happens when young Charles, broken by war, pain, and the loss of his ideals, begins to doubt himself and his mission.

The older Charles, calm and wise after years of struggle, speaks to him with compassion and hope. He reminds his younger self of the importance of believing in humanity and the potential for redemption—not just for others, but for himself as well. This emotional conversation gives young Charles the strength to believe in himself again, to recover his ideals, and to keep fighting to change the future.

This scene is one of the most powerful and emotional moments in the film. It represents a moment of internal reconciliation and personal growth. Watching young Charles confront his future self, full of doubts, and find hope in him is deeply inspiring. The dialogue is filled with humanity and sensitivity, elevating the film beyond a simple action or sci-fi movie.

It shows that the true power of the X-Men doesn’t just lie in their mutant abilities, but in their ability to change, forgive, and believe in a better tomorrow.

INSIDIOUS

The scene is about when Josh goes to search in the world of the dead, where there is only darkness and evil entities. He is looking for his son Dalton, who is chained up while music plays. The villain, "the red-faced demon," sees them and climbs down from where he was to stop them from taking Dalton.

That scene was one of my favorites because it blends suspense and music in a disturbing way. The visuals are astonishing, and that touch of fear makes it an amazing and one of the best scenes.

Ippo defeats Miyata in a practice match in the early episodes, demonstrating his natural talent and tenacity. This event sets his path in boxing and sows the seed for a future professional showdown that is still pending so far.This event is important because Ippo shows that he has a natural talent to succeed in the boxing world and to compete at a global level.
